Initial Post from Maria
Thursday, May 29th, 2008I do not know what to expect considering I have heard about how Jamaica is from my friends, but I am not sure what to expect. I only know that the pace of life will be slower, that the temperature will be hot and humid, and that the food will be well seasoned. But I am not sure how to expect how the locals will react to having tourists being in their country.
I am most excited about the pace of life and the sun, the fruit and how it will remind me of home.
I am really looking forward to making a connection with the students at CARE odsan and at Anse Le Ray and helping achieve what they want out of the interaction. I believe that I will learn so much more from them than they will from me.
I am looking forward to just interacting with a different culture.
